It is a native root from the Peruvian Andes, where are cultivated three varieties of maca: Yellow Maca, Red Maca and Black Maca.
Maca roots contain not only lipid, protein, carbohydrate, fiber, vitamins and minerals, but also good number of phytonutrients like glucosinolate, flavonoid, alkaloid and steroid.
